I'm Shelby and I made my first lanyard two years ago for my dad. Dad is a passionate waterfowl hunter and like most waterfowl hunters, when he heads to the blind he takes an arsenal of duck calls and goose calls along. He'd tried several different lanyards but always complained after a day in the blind that the weight of his lanyard cut into his neck. One night while watching me weave a friendship bracelet, he asked me if I could use some of my finger weaving skills to create a more comfortable lanyard. After several attempts I came up with a design that seemed to work for him. It wasn't long before other waterfowl hunters at his hunting club began asking for lanyards of their own. After talking it over with my parents they agreed to help me start my own business to sell my lanyards on the condition that I take a percentage of my sales and put it into a savings account to be used towards the purchase of my first car.

Waterfowl Lanyards is truly a family business. Each lanyard sold is hand woven by myself or my brother from four stands of 550 paracord. My dad uses real antler to create a miniature duck call accent and mom does all the knots and drops for me.
